Our History
Southbrook Irish Dance Studio opened its doors in 1998 to provide quality Irish Dance tuition to students. Formerly from Ireland, the Wilson family: Des, Eileen, Greg and Kathryn found there was a great need to provide a stable, caring and professional atmosphere in which students could experience the joy of Irish dance and song.
With deep connections to Irish Dance and over 40 years of theatrical and musical experience, the Wilson family has provided the perfect foundation for students to develop and experience Irish Dance and its culture in a fun and exciting way!
Over the years Southbrook Irish Dance Studio has developed into a professional and caring school which caters for students from many parts of South East Queensland. Additional classes in singing tuition were added in 2006, ballet was also introduced in 2008 to support Irish dance and give students the poise and artistry they need to perform. etiquette, stage, theatrical experience and school based educational tuition have also been added to meet the growing demands of this generation.
Southbrook Irish Dance Studio remains family run and privately owned and is considered one of the most professional schools on the Darling Downs. Classed as a school of excellence we are passionate about providing students with the tools they need to succeed in an ever-changing world. With absolute certainty, we are committed to giving our students a stable and caring environment where current students and future generations can develop into socially responsible, caring adults.
